Elmina Sharks continued their impressive form after whipping Accra Hearts of Oak on Saturday at the Cape Coast Stadium by 2-1. First half goals from Felix Addo and captain Daniel Obeng Crentsil were enough for the Elmina based team to triumph over the rainbow boys.
After recess substitute Malik Akowuah gave hearts the consolation but efforts to grab a point in the game proved futile as determined Sharks were super on the day.
At the Theater of Dreams, Asante Kotoko were shocked to the bones as George Jabeng’s 88th minute strike deactivated the porcupines hopes of at least grabbing a point against Dreams FC. This defeat goes down into the history books of the “still believe” lads as their first ever victory over Asante Kotoko since they had their maiden taste of the premiership in 2015.
Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium came from a goal behind to beat Liberty Professionals by 2-1. Benjamin Eshum of Liberty scored from the spot kick in the first half, a penalty many of the Dwarfs fans describe as “dubious”. Reginald Asante Boateng and his lads couldn’t stand the wrath of the home side after Alhaji Mustapha had nullified the scoreline. Coach Bashir Hayford and his men continued to mount pressure on the scientific soccer lads until Dennis Korsah put them in a 2-1 comfortable lead. Liberty are battling relegation as they lie in 15th position with just 7points.
In Techiman, Eleven Wonders deepens WAFA woes throbbing them by 2-1. The defeat means the West African Football Academy boys have lost four times consecutively in this year’s premier league campaign.
The premier league debutantes Eleven wonders on day proved to be a hard nut to crack as goals from Yussif Fusieni and Emmanuel Boahene wrinkled WAFA’s aspirations of getting a point but they consoled themselves with Alhassan Mohammed’s solo effort goal. WAFA are in deep trouble as they find themselves in the relegation button.
