Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom

President and Chairman of Groupe Nduom (GN), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has encouraged the 1.2 million GN Bank customers across the country to bring new deposits to the bank.

The move, according to him, will help strengthen and improve GN Bank’s liquidity position.

“This time, my advocacy was centered on encouraging the 1.2 million GN Bank customers served from 300 locations to bring new deposits to the Bank to strengthen and improve its liquidity position,” said the President and Chairman of GN.

Dr Nduom made the call at Elmina at the weekend when he continued with his national tour to ring out support for indigenous banks in the country.

The tour took Dr Nduom to Cape Coast, Elmina, all in the Central Region, and Takoradi, Western, which saw him interact with key commercial and individual customers.

“I made phone calls to selected commercial customers in Kumasi, Tarkwa, Tamale, Swedru and Wa to solve their specific problems and who all agreed to start making deposits again.  I participated in a meeting of all managers of GN Bank branches in the Greater Accra Region to encourage them to deliver exceptional customer service even in the face of the challenges that arise from time to time,” disclosed Dr Nduom.

According to him, he explained the new “local/regional bank” concept. This, he said, ensures that customer funds will support banking activities in the local and regional areas that generate the deposits.

The focus on making sure those who bring new money get unrestricted access to their money was explained and received enthusiastically, he added.

Dr Nduom also used the opportunity to appeal to GN Bank customers to keep deposits already with the bank there to keep the foundation strong.

“They understood this.  They themselves underscored the need for the bank to continue on since it is the only one that gives them the convenience they need nationally.  I explained to them efforts being made to bring on board new shareholders who will bring new money to the bank,” he noted.

According to him, the feedback from the customers was very positive, with loads of customers excited about his assurance to them.

“I talked to them about efforts being made by the government to pay contractors and the positive impact it will make on GN Bank.   Also discussed Bank of Ghana moves to strengthen the banking sector.  I am convinced that GN Bank will be near full strength at the end of this month,” he noted.
