Afro beats star and signee of Burniton music group, Kelvyn Boy has reacted to critics who are of the view that he is copying the style of Nigerian superstar Wizkid.
In an interview with Kwesi Dope on GNTV’S mid-morning entertainment show dubbed ‘The Brunch’, the Reigning unsung artiste of the year at the 19th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards stated that, he finds it disheartening and painful when people think he sounds like the “Ojuelegba” hit maker because this has been his style since the first time he ever held a microphone in Pastor Adubofour’s church, same pastor who prophesied that kelvyn Boy would mount huge stages in the world.
Kelvyn Boy further stated that people who compare him to Wizkid only do that because they are uninformed and ignorant.
”The people who compare me to wizkid do that out of hate and ignorance”, he said.
Asked which legend he would like to feature on any of his songs if given the opportunity, Kelvyn Boy told Kwesi Dope that he would want to feature the Grammy Award-winning Beninese singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo.
Kelvyn Boy who is still on his Afro Beats tour has released visuals for his hit song titled ‘Ginja’ which stars singer Sister Afia.
