Amansan Television has been nominated in two categories in this year’s
Sustainability and Social Investment Awards. The SSI is an initiative endorsed by the National House of Chiefs aimed at identifying and publicly recognizing the exemplary success of all companies/foundations operating in Ghana to improve the quality of life of the communities they operate in through investment projects.
The station has been nominated in the SSI for Best Company in Charitable Giving for its contribution towards the surgery of a 7 year old boy who was suffering from brain tumor and also for Best Company in Promoting Sanitation for the channel’s campaign against filth dubbed, #STOPTHEFILTHNOW.
The purpose of the SSI Awards among others is to create awareness and encourage companies to infuse corporate social investments and innovations in the form of approach,
usage of technology and expertise towards solving developmental challenges faced by the society, individuals and communities as a whole.
Speaking at the event,Mr Isaac Adu-Gyamfi, the Events Director said, “We see ourselves as helping push the boundaries of what companies can do to help the nation achieve its sustainable development goals and by encouraging companies to increase their sustainability efforts and then manage and report the results, we’re hoping that the greater impact will be measurable”.
The theme for this year’s edition is “investing in communities, impacting lives” and it is to celebrate business excellence and innovation in corporate social responsibility.The awards is scheduled to come on November 30th at the Accra Marriot Hotel
